An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Obvious for the Obtuse

(Proverbs 20:24 KJV)  Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

How can I “understand” (995) the will of God?  What does He want from me?  Here is a place where the question is asked but the answer is found through the entire book as well as the entire Bible.  You can start with basic scriptures such as Micah 6:8.
(Micah 6:8 KJV)  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
That is good for a general overview of attitudes and behavior.  Proverbs is full of advice.  The verse before this calls for honest weights and measures.  The verse after warns you to “think before you speak.”

So?  God may not send you telegrams for specific choices but there are always general guidelines to help us.  Our problem is more that we don’t want to follow what we know than it is a need for more information.  Wear the blue today, it goes well with your eyes.
