An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Children’s Song

(Proverbs 15:20 KJV)  A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

This makes me think of the children’s song that starts,

“The ‘wise’ (2450) man built his house upon the rock...”

It then continues with,

“The ‘foolish’ (3684) man built his house upon the sand...”

If you remember the song you know the results.  Poor foundations make a poor future.  Each of us has a responsibility to those under our influence.  We are contributing to their foundation.  If you are a parent that is clear and understood.  If you are an adult you have less direct influence but it is still there.

So?  Let your example lead people toward wisdom.  Remember that in the song the rock is Jesus.
