(Proverbs 9:6 KJV) Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
One of the great mysteries of teaching is trying to get past the statement of students, “I don’t 'understanding' (998).” I have explained, put the directions in writing, demonstrated how to do it and answered questions. People are working and producing. I notice one student doing her nails or filling in all the “O’s” on his paper. I tell them to get to work. They respond, “I don’t know what to do.”
Really? Really? Maybe they don’t want “understanding” (998).
Why don’t we forsake foolishness and walk the Highway of Holiness? I will grant you sometimes there are real issues and ignorance. Will you grant me that sometimes we just don’t want to understand?
So? The ball is in your court. It is always in your court but remember that you are not in competition with me or anyone else. God is the line judge. Carefully examine your heart and mind and honestly ask if the problem is understanding or motivation.

I've noticed that most ignorance really IS willful. I'm sure you see it every day.
Spot on. I can deal with it, after all I have to deal with it in myself, but I have real problems with the deliberate aspect. And then they want special consideration.
