An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Production Quota

(Proverbs 4:11 KJV)  I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Age and position bring responsibility.  What father has not “taught" (directed NASB) (3384) his son?  What older sister has not tried to advise her younger sibling?  It is natural.  It is a tendency given by God.

It is not always a matter of more years.  Sometimes it is simply more experience or knowledge but we are expected to share the “wisdom” (2451) we have.

That wisdom has a direction or result.  It helps the recipient to be “right" (upright NASB) (3476).  Be reminded that there is a right and a wrong.  There is a difference between what is common and what is moral.  Godly advice will lead people toward righteousness not acceptance.

So?  Prepare your contacts by your example.  Speak wisdom.  Produce righteousness.
