An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Seeing in the Dark

(Mat 6:23 KJV)  But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

(Proverbs 30 also read)

How can “light” (5457) be in “darkness” (4655)?  The two are contrasted all through scripture.  Yet here they are together.  I think this is an attempt to investigate why there is so much evil in the world.  Everywhere you look you see people who think they are on the side of the angels.  While they think that they act like demons.  They call on feelings instead of truth.  They look at the majority in determining morality instead of the unchanging standards in the word.  They infiltrate churches, knowing that they are out to destroy the church as it exists.

And they pull out their thumb and say, “What a good boy am I.”

When you live in darkness you can’t tell shades of gray.  When you live in darkness any kind of light can be painful.  When you live in darkness you will have no tolerance for being in the presence of a holy God.

So?  Walk in the light as He is in the light.
