An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

I’m Glad You Asked

(Pro 20:9 KJV) Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

As you read this keep in mind that Solomon is writing before Ezekiel made his prophecy about the new heart.  It isn’t that he is Biblically illiterate.  It is that he is pre promise.  This could be a cry for the touch of God.  It is also possible that he was echoing in his own way the cry of his father,

(Psa 51:10 KJV) Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
This needs to be a question that we ask ourselves.  For some it might be daily.  For others, the first time.

So?  Keep in mind that there is an answer.  Jesus blood, shed on the cross, is offered as a cleansing atonement for our sin.  He can cleanse our hearts.  Rejoice.
