An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Types of Winds

(Pro 10:25 KJV) As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

The storm does not need to be a “whirlwind” (5492a) to be dangerous.  Every once in awhile my wife has be go out and bring in all the furniture on the front porch.  Her weather reports tell her we are going to get blown away.  I remember one storm where the barbeque grill was blown out from under the awning into the middle of the driveway.  I think we have all seen vehicles moved dramatically by a cross wind.  The Hebrew would support all of these in addition to tornados and cyclones.

What does not seem to move is the foundation.  What is hard to move is things that are tied securely to the foundation.  We put to much effort in life on wallpaper and not enough on foundations.

So?  I can’t make the decisions of priorities and relative importance for anyone but myself.  I hope I am building my foundations and that you are doing the same.  Storms are coming.  No, that is not a prophecy.  That is an observation.
