An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Auditory Disconnect

(Pro 2:2 KJV) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

It amazes me how often we don’t really listen.  I know I am guilty.  Sometimes it is because the person talking is repeating what they have said many times before.  Sometimes I have a hard time taking people seriously when I recognize that they don’t know what they are talking about.  Maybe they weren’t listening.  Maybe they edited their memory to fit their preconceptions.  Sometimes I am just tired.  Too often I am busy thinking about what I want to say.

So?  We cannot afford to be that way with the truth that God wants to share with us.  What is the point of consulting your GPS if  you are not going to listen to directions?  Don’t ask God for guidance if your mind is already made up.
