An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Exult

(Proverbs 28:12 KJV)  When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

This is a verse where the KJV comes closer than the modern translations.  They tend to translate “rejoice” (5970) as “triumph”.  A better word for modern times might be “exult”.  This is not the simple process of being thankful in times of stress.  It is not making lemonade from lemons.  This is an attitude that people have, not when they see the righteous triumph, but when they see righteousness triumph.  This is the celebration that comes when you see wrongs being righted and evil being thwarted.

So?  It is okay to celebrate when the good guys win.  I realize that there will be some variation in what your issues may be and what needs to be fixed but there should also be a very large area of agreement.
