An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Can and Should

(Proverbs 6:4 KJV)  Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.  Just because it is possible doesn’t mean it is profitable.  Just because you have it doesn’t mean you should use it.  There is nothing wrong with “sleep” (8142) or “eyes” (5869) but they are temporarily constrained.

Here it is a matter of priorities.  If you have caused a problem it should be resolved before you get on to the many other things you want to do.  It doesn’t mean that the other things are wrong but putting them first could be a sin.

So?  Plan your day with God’s kingdom in mind.  How do you fit in today?  Are there any bumps that you have put in the road that need to be removed?  Get to it.
