An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Be a Solomon

(Pro 30:7 KJV)  Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:

What do you really want from God today?  Remember the fairy tales where someone is given three wishes?  It seems they were all taken by the being granting them and twisted to make it all a waste of time.  Usually it would reflect on the selfishness or foolishness of the wisher.  This is Solomon speaking.  This is the man that was given one wish by God.
(2Ch 1:7 KJV)  In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
Of course we know that he asked for wisdom and knowledge.

So?  Think about it.  God listens to our prayers.  Are you asking for what your heart really yearns for or are you the guy in the fairy tale.  Be a Solomon.
