An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Old News

(Proverbs 25:25 KJV)  As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

Merry Christmas!

Think of “good” (2896a) “news” (8052).  Set aside your protests about the commercialization of Christmas.  Forget your protests about it being based on the pagan Saturnalia.  Forgive the person that gave you that horrid tie.   Today is ultimately the celebration of the ultimate good news.  It is the day we celebrate the incarnation.  The day chosen may be arbitrary.  The attitudes may need improvement.  That does not take away from the announcement of the heavenly host.
(Luke 2:10 KJV)  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
You must admit that is “good” (2896a) “news” (8052).  You must concede it comes from a “far” (distant NASB) (4801) “country” (land NASB) (776).

So get over your humbug and rejoice in the good news.  Before the cross you needed the incarnation.  And you got it.

Merry Christmas.
