An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Have It Your Way

(Proverbs 1:26 KJV)  I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

This verse is not presented in a vacuum.  It is a continuation of the previous passage.  If you look back over the previous verses you see God and His wisdom repeatedly calling out and communicating and men ignoring what He has to say.

God is patient.  He keeps reaching out, speaking, sending messengers.  Eventually He will come to the place where He just says, “Okay, have it your way.”  That may work in your choice of hamburgers but it is no way to build an eternity.

So?  Don’t push your luck.  Is God trying to get your attention?  It could be a matter of salvation.  It could be in stewardship of finances.  It could be in your marriage.  Listen while He is still speaking.  You don’t want God laughing at you.
