An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Seek Not, Have Not

(Proverbs 3:13 KJV)  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

As these few verses reaffirm, wealth and prosperity are not confined to money.  In fact, I think the point here is to remind us that the blessings of life are not tied to those things at all.  The blessings of life are tied to “wisdom” (2451).

This is a truth that applies to all.  If you are rich, seek wisdom.  If you are poor, seek wisdom.  If you are old, seek wisdom.  If you are young, seek wisdom.  Do you see where this is going?

Remember Jesus saying, “Seek and ye shall find”?  What are you looking for?  The chances are you will find it.

So where is wisdom on your list of things you want in life?  My wife once told me that all great soups have onions, celery and carrots in common.  You might need to look, but they are there.  Start with the building block of wisdom and add to the recipe from there.
