An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Be a Source of Glory

(Proverbs 28:12 KJV)  When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

Does this refer to the national scene or to our personal lives?  My first reaction is to society as a whole.  I think of times in history when you have had a Hitler or a Ghengis Khan in power.  While their cronies party the general population lives in fear and dread.

Do we act as little Attila the Hun’s?  How do people react when you are around?  Are they free and active or do they shut down?  Often we are the last to know because we are not looking.

Don’t get sidetracked by people who tell you it is impossible to live a righteous (6662), upright life.  If that were true you would need to throw out numerous sections of the Bible.  We find people like this in the church.  We also find people in and out of the church who claim there are no wicked (7563) people, just those who are misunderstood.  These people also deny scripture.

So?  Decide today which kind of influence you are going to be.  Live that way.
