An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Lighten Up

(Col 1:13 KJV)  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

(Proverbs 25 also read)

I was looking for the passage that talks about Jesus holding the universe together and as I was reading up to it I came across this thought.  We have been “delivered” (4506) from “darkness” (4655).  The previous verse talks about us being “saints in light” .  Think a moment about the statement that God is light.

We are redeemed so that we can live in the eternal light of God Himself.  What a calling.  What an honor.  What an impossible task.  Yet it is given to us.

So?  Live in the light.  That does not mean leave all your lightbulbs burning all night.  It means to live in righteousness.  We are to be light in a dark world and we can do that as we allow Jesus to shine through ut.
