Satan attacks in different ways. Sometimes he is loud and threatening.
(1 Peter 5:8 KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:Sometimes he is more subtle and “lieth in wait” (lurks NASB) (693). For most of us this is a much more effective way to drag us down. I know that if my macho manhood is questioned I will do my peacock thing, puff out my chest and resist with great vigor. I know that if it is just a little compromise I will often say, “Oh, well...”
So? Satan lurks. He waits. He is persistent. Fortunately he is not as powerful as the Holy Spirit. Trust, obey, triumph.
Amen.
