Proverbs 31:10 (KJV) Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
This is a good question. One problem we face is that the KJV gives a poor translation with “virtuous”. Not that virtue is a bad trait, it is just not what the word means. The NASB is closer with “excellent”. Any way you look at it, this is a woman of quality.
Where do you find such a paragon? If you are already married then you should not be looking.
Probably a better question for us is, “How can I be one of those people?” It is a question if you want to take the verse literally, as offered, or turn it around to suggest what kind of men we should be.
So? Go ahead and look for excellence but even more, strive for it in your own life.

Apparently the sexual purity thing is going around evangelical podcast circles. I remember it from back in the day with I think Bill Gothard. I always felt there was more to this verse and that the idea of Virtue in the scriptures was a deeper and wider understanding of God's word than a strict ten commandments approach. Which is not so say I believe in moral relativism or situational ethics. Bill Gothard ended up with sexual harassment issues, and Virtue is still hard to find.
We had friends deeply involved in the Gothard system. He had a lot of good things to say and shared a lot of truth. Unfortunately he went the way of David and Solomon. Sexual purity is a Biblical standard for both men and women. We tend to overlook that when we get criticized. It is not the only Biblical standard that our culture has discarded but it may have the most disastrous results.

The New Testament gives us a lot of personal responsibility. It is easy to focus on one issue and neglect the rest. Or maybe we make lots of rules so we don't have to worry about freedom to choose all the time.
I had not thought of it that way but it makes sense that rules ingrained can free us for deeper considerations. The Amish don't need to spend a lot of time wondering what they are going to wear.
